ELECTRICAL CERTIFICATION
Alba Electrical electricians are fully conversant in all legal certification applicable to your situation. Our team are registered by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) which means they hold practising licences and we are a member of Master Electricians.
It's our guarantee to be legally responsible for our work, giving you that all important peace of mind on every job we complete. To this end we issue Certificates of Compliance and Electrical Safety Certificates as lawful adjuncts to our service.
On completion of the project, we will supply you with the necessary certificates for your records. The certificate provided is determined by the nature of the work completed.
Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC)
Maintenance work, such as replacing like for like sockets, light fittings or accessories or repairing appliances e.g. if we replace a faulty power point.
This is a legally recognisable statement from Alba Electrical stating that the installation is safe to use. This certificate also confirms that the electrical work complies with the building code for the purposes of Section 19(1)(e) of the Building Act
An Electrical Safety Certificate is an important document and should be retained for a minimum of 7 years.
Certificate of Compliance (CoC)
Fixed and additional new wiring work e.g if we install a new power point or light fitting and new wiring is required.
This tells you that the work has been carried out in accordance with New Zealand’s electrical safety standards and codes i.e. by a licensed electrician. It also shows the work has been tested once completed.
A Certificate of Compliance is an important document and should be retained for a minimum of 7 years.
Electrical safety inspections
The law also requires some electrical work to be inspected, particularly work on the main switchboard, the main cable, and the main earth. We can organise that for you too.
